Professional Singer

Emma Pooley - SInging teacher

I have two degrees in Music – a first class honours degree in Music (BMus) from the University of London (Royal Holloway College), and a master’s degree in Music Theory & Analysis (MMus) from the University of London (King’s College).

I am a classically trained singer.  My solo performances with opera companies include parts in Janacek’s The Diary of One Who Vanished, and Mozart’s Le Nozze Di Figaro. I have sung solo parts in various choral works including Beethoven’s Mass in C, Brahms’ Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Purcell’s Ode to St. Cecilia and Come Ye Sons of Art and Vivaldi’s Gloria. I have appeared as a guest solo artist and recitalist at numerous concerts, singing opera arias, show tunes and songs.

My focus is currently on solo recital work. My most recent recital included two song cycles – Schubert’s FrauenLiebe und –Leben (Woman’s Life & Woman’s Love), and Vaughan Williams’ Songs of Travel.

I was a choral scholar at university and I have sung as a member of many professional church choirs in London including St. Peter’s, Eaton Square; St Augustine’s, Queen’s Gate; St. Etheldreda’s, Ely Place; and St. Bartholomew-the-Great, Smithfield. I have sung with London Voices and The Pinewood Singers at international concerts and on recordings for film soundtracks and computer games (including Harry Potter).
